While they are the most liberal of liberal and not quite business focused they do encompass the business community on their radio programs ensuring exposure when relevant and topical – They have been a mainstay for over 15 years on talk radio so they rightfully get themselves on our site.

After the demise of 96.9 Talk they resurfaced very quickly on WGBH 89.7 starting February 25th aiting from noon to 2pm Monday through Friday.

Here is a recent article published in the Boston Herald by Laurel J Sweet:

Talk radio’s liberal dynamic duo, Herald columnist Margery Eagan and television personality Jim Braude, are returning to the airwaves as a team Feb. 25 to host the 12-2 p.m. weekday slot on WGBH (89.7 FM), Boston Public Radio — and Gov. Deval Patrick is coming along for the ride.

“It makes you feel good how many people have posted on Facebook and follow us on Twitter saying, ‘Where are you? Where are you?’ There’s a vacuum. People who love talk radio really love talk radio. People say, ‘Tell us where you’re going.’ Well, now we’re going somewhere,” Eagan said this morning. “We’re very lucky and I feel very happy.”

Eagan and Braude were the popular morning-drive cohosts of the “Jim & Margery” show for four years on WTKK (96.9 FM) until the station switched its format to urban contemporary music earlier this year. The pair were at WTKK a total of 13 years.

Eagan said regular contributors to the new show, featuring “local conservation,” will include current 12-2 p.m. hosts Callie Crossley and Emily Rooney. And just as he did on WTKK, Patrick will follow Eagan and Braude to WGBH to host his monthly “Ask the Governor” segment.

The launch hits as the jockeying starts for the June 25 special election to fill Secretary of State John F. Kerry’s vacated U.S. Senate seat.

“I am thrilled about this and I’m really, really excited,” Eagan said. “I’ve already got a commitment from Congressman Stephen Lynch to come on and debate, and I’m going to call Congressman (Edward) Markey to see if he’ll join us.

“I’m thrilled that we’re going to be another voice doing daily, local, policitcal coverage and covering all the great local stories in Boston. I love radio debates. I think they’re great.”

As for how Eagan and Braude’s sometimes zany, sexy banter will play on public radio, Eagan smiled.

“We’ve been on the radio for 13 years,” she said. “They hired Jim and Margery. They know whom they’re getting. We try to both be smart and entertaining.”
